How to..Become a mystery shopper

I have always wondered how you become a "Mystery Shopper", I thought it was one of those types of jobs that you could only get into if you knew someone in the industry or if you were approached to do it.

I have come across so many websites that claim you can become a mystery shopper but they all seem to just be out to get your details, and you never get anything from them.

OOTD - Blush Wrap Top

I absolutely love the blush colour that is on trend at the moment. I found this gorgeous wrap top in New Look and just couldn't not buy it!

I live in my black skinnies, so I also treated myself to a new pair from Topshop as my two pairs both had holes in!

Tanning Truths

I love having a tan. Ever since I can remember, I have always been jealous of those with olive coloured skin and people who go really brown in the sun. I am naturally pale, and do not tan easily either.

When I was younger, holidays meant tanning time. I was obsessed with getting a tan, so much so, that I would force myself to stay out in the blaring hot sun just so I could see those tan lines at the end of the day, even if it meant burning my skin. I don't even enjoy sitting out all day in the sun, I actually get really hot and bothered. I was so obsessed with getting a natural tan, that if I didn't, I would feel really down and depressed. It sounds so silly, but it really did mean that much to me!

In more recent years, I would get a spray tan before going on holiday, which made me feel great when I first went on holiday. But after a couple of days the tan started wearing off, and I would come home paler than I went!

Earlier this year I decided to ditch the fake tan and try to build a bit of a base tan before I went on holiday using sun beds (sorry dad!). I was using them around 2-3 times per week, and if i'm honest, it was such a chore! I didn't enjoy the heat, and I felt guilty for using them because I know how bad they are! I carried on regardless because I was so desperate to achieve that natural base tan. One day, i'd gone to the tanning shop straight after finishing a busy day at work, having eaten nothing. I always went on for 6 minutes but after about 3 I started feeling really unwell, I was light-headed and the room started spinning. I had to come out of the booth after 4 minutes and somehow managed to pull my clothes on. As soon as I opened the door to leave, I had to sit down and then everything went black. It was such a horrible feeling, I was so embarrassed and so disappointed in myself for putting my body through that. I've not been back to the tanning shop since, and to be honest, I don't think I will step foot in a sun bed ever again. In a way, it was probably a blessing in disguise as it really did put me off for life!

Beauty Buys - July/August

I have put together some of my favourite products I have added to my beauty collection over the past month. I love anything to do with beauty and I'm always looking for new things to try out. I feel like you can never have too many nude lipsticks, and mermaid-inspired GHDs are always a winner in my book.

Calgel - Nail Course

Last weekend, I attended my two day Calgel nail course at their head office in Milton Keynes. I am now fully trained in both Calgel overlays and sculpted nail extensions to extend the natural nail bed.

Calgel is a low maintenance nail system that lasts up to 6 weeks. It is perfect for those who have peeling and splitting nails, that just won't grow. Calgel protects the nail and helps it to grow, without drying out the nails. It is flexible on the nail, yet strong which allows movement with the natural nail.

I wanted to write this blog post for two reasons; Firstly, I haven't yet found another person in Shrewsbury who does Calgel so I wanted to let people know what it actually is, as it's not very well known here. Secondly, I wanted to give an insight to anyone who is thinking about going on this nail course.

Affordable Fashion - Primark

Being a student, I have to live on a budget (well..I try). I like to buy a lot of clothes, so I can keep changing my style and keeping up with the trends, so they have to be affordable.

The high street shops are ruthless with each other. You can see something in Topshop one week for £40, then it's in shops such as Primark and New Look the following week for less than half the price. They do copy each other, so you just have to know what to look for. I go into shops that would stretch the budget a little just to get an idea of what they are doing, they are the ones who get the trends in first and they can charge a premium for this.

Now, I know what Primark used to be like. Especially the one near me. There were clothes all over the floor, staff who couldn't care less and you really had to root through EVERYTHING to find something worth buying. But, I really feel like they've completely turned this around. I absolutely love Primark now, especially for fast fashion. It's the best feeling when people just can't believe something is from Primark, and you've paid about £6 for it!

I have put together some of my favourite trends from last month and I don't even have to say sorry to my bank balance for them.

Buying affordable clothes that don't look cheap is the best way to have new clothes all the time without breaking the bank, that's my excuse anyway.

Pentreclawdd Glamping

I, like a lot of people, can not do the whole camping thing. Waking up in a freezing cold tent with no electricity and embracing the "great outdoors", is not my idea of fun. I do, however, enjoy the idea of "glamping" (glam-camping).

So when my dad bought my boyfriend, Jack, a night away at some glamping pods near us for his birthday, I was really excited to see what it would be like.

The pods were around 30 minutes from us, based just off the A5 near Oswestry. We picked up a takeaway from the town centre and then headed to the pods. We arrived around 8:30pm to find we were the only people staying there that night, so it was really peaceful.

Hello..

Im Becci. Im nineteen years old and I live in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. I am currently at University studying Fashion Buying and Merchandising in Manchester, but i'm hoping to change my course this September (more about this soon). I've adored fashion since I was young, always admiring clothes and keeping up with the latest trends. I spend the majority of my money on clothes and beauty products, so I thought a blog would be the perfect way to show my favourite purchases and express my inner shopaholic.

My style

My style can go from casual to overdressed within hours. I'm mostly found in a slouchy jumper, leather jacket and skinny jeans, but I also love dresses and skirts, depending on my mood.
I love fast fashion, I buy a lot of my clothes from high street brands such as Primark, New Look, Missguided and Pretty Little Thing. I think these brands are the forefront of fast fashion, they are always on trend, with affordable clothes.
I buy a few investment pieces each year but I love to change the rest of my wardrobe regularly.
